Hi there and welcome to our fundraising page!

I am Tyler Doiron, captain of the "Factuaries". We are a group of number crunching, risk aware actuaries employed by the Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada in Moncton, New Brunswick. Outside of sharing a passion for numbers, the Factuaries do at times also enjoy the occasional social gathering. This includes, but is not limited to, trivia.

Our team was first formed in early 2020. Shortly after, as some of you may recall, a series of unfortunate events occurred.. leaving us lost and trivia-less. Thankfully in 2023, we were revived after a brief hiatus and were able to score an impressive 4th place finish at the event in our 1st year of participation! Not to mention, our team was able to contribute a total of more than $1,600 to the fundraising efforts!

Pictured left to right is our squad at the 2023 event: Justin, Jean-Pierre, Tyler, Jeremy, Adel and Amir. With Amir's departure (contract negotiation issues), we will be adding Olivier to the mix! After our excruciatingly rigorous off-season trivia study regiment completed just this past Friday, we are ready to roll.

Our team is again poised for another successful showing. Anchored by Jean-Pierre and Justin, the team will be well positioned for flash card multiplication and units of measurement used in George Lucas directed films. Look for key contributions from Jeremy in the realm of 1970's New Brunswick manufactured sports cars. Also, don't count him out when it comes to western movie slogans. Adel will provide stability in the fields of "Katy Perry" and 102 recipes using 5 ingredients or less. With Amir's untimely departure, Adel will now act as our resident expert in Flags of the world. Olivier, the newest addition to the team, will bring a strong foundation in the categories of "Netflix" and "Creating excel Macros for Personal Finances". Olivier also co-authored a book in 2014 about dog breed genetics, which might prove useful in the event. As for myself, I hope to again be instrumental in team success by providing legible handwriting. I also hope to increase the number of times I was questioned with "why do you know that??" from 3 to 4. I will also act as team bartender.

This year, our team has set its goals even higher; both in trivi-ability and our fundraising effort. We hope that you're also on board!
