Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in June 2023. It’s had its highs and lows (pardon the pun) to say the least but learning to live with this has been a whirlwind of emotions.

It’s fair to say it was a complete shock when I had the diagnosis and it took me a long time to accept it. With the help of Diabetes UK website I was able to access support, advice and guidance to develop my understanding of how I can make my life as normal as possible. They have great tools for diet, mental health and life style related questions and concerns.

Jo & I have decided to take part in the “62 miles in March” challenge to raise money for Diabetes UK, the charity that funds research and support to people with both type 1 & type 2 diabetes. Fewer than 1 in 10 people in the UK who have Diabetes have type 1.

We will be posting on Strava our walks/runs for people to see if they wish. We have already pre ordered lots of Haribos for me (until jo gets hangry and needs them) ! :)

Any donations will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Tom & Jo x
