I was 72 when I ran the London marathon, and I promised my family it was the last of my 24 half marathons and five marathons for Macmillan Cancer over the last ten years or so.

But I can still challenge myself to do SEVEN 10ks for my 75th year.

7 x 10Ks for 2027 in memory of my 7 young friends.

Why?

In 2026, my main Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser. funster, rocker and mega-valued member of the Yorkshire in Business team, Tracie Marson (pictured), died of cancer. Then my inspiration, Kanya King CBE, died of cancer too.

So, we go again in 2027 with 7 x 10Ks all around Yorkshire in late Summer 2027. Including Sheffield, Leeds, York, and finishing with the Yorkshire Coast 10K in Sunny Scarbados in early October.

As always, the amazing Yorkshire in Business team will support me in this fundraising, and my red lobster running hat will feature the SEVEN names of my young friends (28-57 years), whom I run in memory of.

We have to raise another £2,000 on top of the £3,000 my London marathon raised. Can we do it?
