Story
My Momma, Frammy, was diagnosed with cancer the first time in 1985, again in 2005, and yet again in 2022. Her mom was diagnosed in 1986 and we lost her in 1987. I was diagnosed in 2017.
Red shoes have always been a crazy and fun way to show sass and strength. When mom was diagnosed three years ago, we formed Frammy's Red Shoe Militia. We had prayer warriers all over the country wearing their red shoes in solidarity with her!
Now, we are busting out and dusting off those red shoes and joining all our Superhero friends in a fight for the greater good!
Since 2004, the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center has been a beacon of hope for those touched by cancer. Please support our fundraising team as we seek to raise at least $1,000 to benefit local cancer patients and their families.
Owensboro Health Foundation currently funds the following cancer-related initiatives:
- Patient Assistance Funds
- Breast and Lung Cancer Screenings
- Support Groups
- Patient Resource Room
- Nicotine Replacement Therapy
- Survivor Events
- Transportation and Lodging
...and more!
The Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center is able to provide comprehensive cancer care close to home because of the support of our community. Your participation in the 2025 Superhero Walk is so appreciated!
