Ultra’s for Ostomies – Pushing Limits, Changing Perceptions
This year, I’m stepping up in the most intense way I know how—by taking on Ultra’s for Ostomies for the second time. In support of Ostomy Canada Society’s national "Step Up for Ostomy" fundraiser, I’ll be running two ultramarathons on back-to-back days: a 50-mile trail race on Day 1, followed by a 50-kilometre race on Day 2. That’s over 130 km of rugged trail running—all with an ostomy.
Last year, I gave it everything I had and came just 3 km short of completing Day 1. It was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done—but it lit a fire in me. This year, I’m returning stronger, more determined, and ready to go the full distance.
Ultra’s for Ostomies is about more than just the miles. It’s about challenging misconceptions, breaking down stigma, and proving that life with an ostomy can still be powerful, purposeful, and full of adventure. Every dollar raised goes directly to Ostomy Canada Society, helping fund vital programs in education, advocacy, and community support for people living with ostomies across the country.
Join me on this journey. Together, we can change the narrative and show that an ostomy isn’t the end of the story—it’s the beginning of something bold.
