With Qurbani underway and Dhul Hijjah coming up, it is important to reflect on its significance and the profound impact of those less fortunate.
In Sudan, amidst conflict and displacement, Qurbani is more than a ritual, it is a lifeline for many.
Qurbani, the Islamic tradition of sacrificing livestock during Eid al-Adha, symbolizes the willingness to give up something valuable for the sake of others.
It’s a time when Muslims around the world share their blessings by distributing meat to those in need, ensuring that no one is left without sustenance during this holy period.
This year, the need in Sudan is particularly dire. With the nation facing a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of lives lost and millions displaced due to the ongoing conflict. Right now, nearly 18 million people across Sudan are facing acute food insecurity.
