During Qurbani and Dhul Hijjah, let’s honour the spirit of giving. In Sudan, amidst conflict, displacement and acute food insecurity, Qurbani is more than a ritual, it is a lifeline for those in need.

Story

With Qurbani underway and Dhul Hijjah coming up, it is important to reflect on its significance and the profound impact of those less fortunate.

In Sudan, amidst conflict and displacement, Qurbani is more than a ritual, it is a lifeline for many.

Qurbani, the Islamic tradition of sacrificing livestock during Eid al-Adha, symbolizes the willingness to give up something valuable for the sake of others.

It’s a time when Muslims around the world share their blessings by distributing meat to those in need, ensuring that no one is left without sustenance during this holy period.

This year, the need in Sudan is particularly dire. With the nation facing a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of lives lost and millions displaced due to the ongoing conflict. Right now, nearly 18 million people across Sudan are facing acute food insecurity.

Your contribution can offer hope to families across the region. With IDRF, we are dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious meat to those in need.

Qurbani for Sudan is $150 for a share.

This can provide nutrition to many across the country. IDRF ensures ethical sacrifice, care, and efficient distribution and ensures Qurbani is delivered within the first three days of Eid al-Adha.

Any donations above $10.00 CAD will receive a tax-deductible receipt from IDRF.
