Over the past 20 years, Zatoun has gathered a large, dedicated and diverse community in Canada which support and show solidarity with Palestine through the purchase of fair trade olive oil from Palestine. Time to show that solidarity in a different way; in direct emergency aid to victims of mass destruction in Gaza.

Zatoun for Gaza is a dedicated webpage to raise funds nationally for Gaza emergency relief. The charity partner is a top-rated Canadian registered charity. International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) was chosen because of its decades long record of effective aid delivery to Gaza.

As donors, our first question is "will it get there," the second question is "will it be used effectively" and third, "will it make a difference." We asked IDRF to partner because the answer to all three questions is a resounding "yes."

This is a national campaign using this dedicated page. Zatoun's goal is to raise $20,000 from its community for emergency relief. Tax-deductible receipts are issued via email for donations ($10 and greater).

The Situation

As the ongoing humanitarian crisis worsens, we have witnessed urgent developments continue to unfold in Gaza, demanding immediate attention. More than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 90,000 are injured along with 1.9 million people displaced. Millions of people are severely food insecure and are suffering from starvation, water scarcity, and an immense lack of basic necessities.

As the country continues to grapple with overcrowded hospitals and an alarming shortage of medical supplies, the people of Gaza are in desperate need of emergency support.

How is IDRF helping?

In response to the dire circumstances in Palestine, IDRF is actively engaged in providing vital assistance and relief. Our dedicated team is on the ground, tirelessly working to ensure that those affected have access to essential resources. We are currently providing regular hot meals, food parcels, fresh produce, and clean water supply.
