Story
Hey👋🏼 I'm Zoe and I'm 31🌸
On 6th April 2025 I will be taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon and running for Diabetes UK🏃🏼♀️
I have never ran far in my life, probably furthest I've ran is for a bus that I was about to miss but I wanted to take on a challenge. When I turned 30 in December 2023 I decided I wanted to do more in life and throw challenges in the mix.
🧡Diabetes UK💙 - why did I choose this charity?
Back in November 2022, my husband, Jack (30 at the time) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes💉🩸
He initially had the famous 4 T's (thirst, thinner, tired, toilet) before being admitted to A+E by his GP as a urgent care patient due to very high blood sugars (32mmol) and DKA (Diabetic ketoacidosis, this is very serious, it produces ketones which attack your body from the inside) after spending 4 days in hospital, our lives changed completely, obviously more so for Jack. Adjusting to our 'new life' has been a rollercoaster of all emotions. He is doing extremely well and all his diabetic health carers are happy with his levels and progress to maintaining a healthy T1D lifestyle.
So I wanted to do this for him, as even with diabetes he still runs around and puts me first before anything else❤️
Albeit a half marathon wont reverse him having diabetes but the donations and money raised will help fund Diabetes UK for future research and help other diabetics.
I really hope to hit my target with you help. Any donations big or small are so much apprecaited✨️
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page, and hope to see some of you at that finish line in April
