Why Your Fundraising Matters
This year, Cathy Leech and Rachel Botterill from JMW, and Billy Macleod, will be taking on the Spinal Injuries Association Overseas Cycle Ride to raise vital funds for this amazing charity.
We will be cycling 305km across 3 days alongside approximately 40 other riders, including riders with spinal cord injuries.
For over 30 years Cathy has represented people who have sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI) through no fault of their own. An unfortunate event in seconds has changed their life forever. We can be brilliant lawyers and rebuild lives as much as is possible. But true support for people in this situation - whatever the cause of the injury - comes from the Spinal Injuries Association.
We often refer our clients to their support services and the feedback from people who speak to their outreach advisors and nurse advocates is phenomenal. To be heard and understood by someone who lives with SCI and knows it, is essential. The campaigning work of SIA is similarly vital in this world where access to medical and work environments, for example, is not what it should be.
Funding this service and these brilliant people who work for SIA is expensive. That's where sponsored events comes in and that is where YOU can help (please).
This year's SIA ride will be the 12th that Cathy has taken part in, 5th for Rachel and 1st for Billy. Please dig deep and sponsor us and keep those pedals turning!
By supporting Spinal Injuries Association, you’re helping us provide life-changing services, from expert advice and peer support to campaigning for better care and opportunities. You’re giving people their independence back.
Thank you
Cathy, Rachel and Billy
