Story
Jacqueline and Robert’s wish for their daughter to live a fulfilling life. Meghan, an 18-year-old who is deafblind and has cerebral palsy, communicates using a tablet and nods in reply to questions. She recently joined the DeafBlind Ontario Services Tremplin program in Sudbury, and with support, is finding her independence in a world that once seemed daunting.
Meghan's recent transition to the Tremplin program was pivotal. The program encourages community engagement while allowing participants to return home nightly. The Tremplin Program's base is a supported living home offering respite support to families throughout the year.
Intervenor Services and programs like Tremplin are crucial to meeting the basic needs of the people we serve. And, with the support of donors like you, we can do so much more – including turning houses into homes, that maximize their mobility and independence; giving them the tools to accomplish amazing things.
