Story
Our Story
Last October, the two of us took on HYROX. One of us, out of shape, the other in very good shape but dealing with a full-blown midlife crisis. It was supposed to be a one-time thing… but in true midlife-crisis fashion, someone decided we should do it again (if it was up to him we would have done it in December at London's Excel).
Why are we doing this?
Because in the chaos of training, sweating, limping, and occasionally questioning our life choices, we realised we forgot the most important part: setting up a fundraiser.
So this year, we're putting ourselves back through the pain—on purpose—to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Why Macmillan?
Cancer is something that touches everyone, directly or indirectly. Friends, family, colleagues—none of us are untouched by it. We wanted our effort (and suffering!) to actually mean something. Supporting a cause that helps people navigate one of life’s toughest battles felt like the right thing to do.
Who Are We?
We’re just two friends trying to make fitness fun (or at least survivable).
The out-of-shape one: Wondering how they got dragged into this and yet secretly loving the challenge and his new lifestyle and life choices.
The in-shape one: Redefining “midlife crisis” by swapping sports cars for burpees and deciding that dragging a friend into a new lifestyle is definitely the path to happiness.
Together, we’re proving that you don’t have to be athletes, influencers, or superhumans to make a difference—you just have to show up, put in the effort, and care.
What We’re Asking
If you can spare a donation—big or small—you’ll be supporting an incredible cause and giving us that little extra motivation when we’re questioning all our life decisions somewhere between the rower and the wall balls.
Thank you for helping us turn our questionable fitness choices into something genuinely good.
