Story
Six anaesthetists (well… five anaesthetists and a GP who drew the short straw) will be swapping theatres for turf this May as we take on HYROX Cardiff on 1st May to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We’re very comfortable managing difficult airways, but slightly less confident about managing sled pushes, wall balls and running several kilometres without a coffee break. Usually our job involves getting people off to sleep — this time we’re hoping not to pass out ourselves.
Why are we doing it? Because Macmillan provides incredible support for patients and families facing cancer, and we’d love to raise as much as possible for them while putting our questionable cardio to the test.
If you’d like to support six clinicians who are far more used to laryngoscopes than lunges, please consider donating.
Any amount is greatly appreciated — and if things get really tough, at least one of us can secure the airway!
Thank you!
From the Salisbury Team :)

📖 £10 could pay for 10 copies of our Help with the cost of cancer booklet.
📱 £20 could provide one session of emotional support to a person living with cancer with a Macmillan Buddy.
💚 £39 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 hour.
There are currently over 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, but they can’t do this without donations from people like you.
