Story

Once again Uniqlo have been fortunate enough to partner with Save the Children for the 2026 London Marathon to help raise vital funds for this extremely important cause.

As the nights draw in and the tempreatures drop, we will all be starting our long training blocks to prepare for the task ahead, however, relative to the challenges currently faced by many children around the world, this will seem like a walk in the park. Please read on below for a few short words from the team as to why they have chosen to undertake the challenge.

Laura: I always said I would only ever do one full marathon…..But here I am again! I had the joy of participating in the Athens marathon in 2018, and I really I thought I would hang up my trainers for good and be done with long distance running for the foreseeable. However, after a few years of living along the marathon route in London, I have witnessed the most incredible energy, positivity and community spirit this special day brings to the city every April and every year I feel more and more inspired to take on a new challenge and push past my limits. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to support Save The Children and even though the challenge absolutely terrifies me once again, being able to go through the journey with my colleagues gives me all the motivation I need to give this another go. Thank you for all supporting this amazing cause!

Daniel: I am once again very proud to be able to fundraise for Save the Children in 2026. Last year the combined STC London Marathon team raised over £400,000 (the equivalent of 10,000 new baby kits, 9,500 food baskets or clean drinking water for 8,500 people!), but the challenges faced today by children are still the same, if not worse in many cases. I look forward to helping STC break last years amount raised (and hopefully not my own hip at the same time...) so that their vital work can continue.

Alessandro: I’m thrilled to be running the TCS London Marathon in support of Save the Children. Every step I take is for the millions of children around the world who deserve safety, education, and a chance to thrive. Your donation, big or small, can make a real difference in their lives. Together, we can help create a brighter future for the most vulnerable. Thank you for your support!

Save the Children creates lasting change for and with children. They support individual children to stay safe, healthy and keep learning, whilst also tackling the root causes of inequality like unjust laws or practices.

Bonus participant - James: With all the current turbulence in the world, I’m excited to fundraise for both Save the Children and Plan International, to help them continue to support the most vulnerable members of global society. It’s fantastic to know that UNIQLO will match contributions to increase the impact of our fundraising challenge and to help any kind donations go further! Finally, on a personal level, I’m desperate to run a sub-3 hour marathon to finally tick that arbitrary achievement off my to-do list. Your verbal, mental or financial support for that will be hugely appreciated!

Save the Children creates lasting change for and with children. They support individual children to stay safe, healthy and keep learning, whilst also tackling the root causes of inequality like unjust laws or practices. These two approaches work hand in hand to create real change that lasts a lifetime and to give every child the chance of the future they deserve.By supporting my fundraising, you are helping children to change their future for good. Thank you!
