Jake and Megs fundraiser for Tommys

Raising money for Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby charity

By the end of the month your total steps will be 248,000, the approximate number of babies that are estimated to be lost or born prematurely every year in the UK. Your fundraising will help to bring hope to families devasted by baby loss. Thank you.

Story

Jake will be running the Liverpool Half martahon on 17th March and I will be taking part in Tommys 8000 steps a day in March challenge. Over the month I will complete 248,000 steps which is the number of babies that are lost or born prematurely every year.

We decided to take on this fundraising challenge together after suffering some of the hardest pain through miscarriage. We decided to turn our pain into something positive to raise funds to help others going through the pain that we have. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in premature loss and sadly we fall into this category of statistics. There is an apparent stigma around discussing the topic of miscarriage and the effect that it has. We want to raise awareness of the organisations such as Tommys that are out there to help help people navigate and validate the pain of early baby loss. We hope that any money we raise will help them provide support and also help fund research into early baby loss.

Anything that you can give to support us would be greatly appreciated in supporting such a good cause.

In memory of our angel babies 💜
