This year has been a heavy one for many families in our community. I’ve seen it through the people who sit in my chair, through friends, and through neighbors who are doing their best to make ends meet.

The Braid & Give Initiative was created to bring local braiders together to help ease that weight — by collecting food, hygiene items, and now funds that go directly to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia & the Eastern Shore.

Every dollar raised provides real meals for real people. This isn’t just about giving once — it’s about building something that lasts. Together, we can make sure our community feels supported, seen, and cared for, especially in seasons like this.
