Story
Tilly and her Mum Claire are running the London Landmarks half marathon together to raise money for diabetes UK.
“I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2020. Whilst I've had 5 years to get to grips with it, everyday is different. I've got a wonderful support system around me however the impact that type 1 has on me and many other people, is still greatly underestimated by many. I think it's important to raise awareness around both the physical and mental impact that this condition has. I never let it get in my way, however that doesn't diminish the challenge I face. This charity continues to research and raise awareness about type 1 Diabetes. I would be very grateful if you were able to donate! I am not a runner...and only recently see tarted my running journey, but with the determination that I approach every day with, I will get to the finish line.” Tilly
”As a Mum l, it’s tough to watch your child have to deal with a life changing and lifelong diagnosis. I could not be more proud of Tilly and her utter determination. We have all had fantastic support from the medics along with our family and friends. Hopefully the money raised will mean other young people will be able to access similar support.” Claire
More than 5 million people are living with diabetes in the UK right now. So, I'm taking on this challenge this month towards a healthier me, and a better future for people living with and affected by diabetes. Support my challenge by hitting the donate button on my profile page.
