Raising money for The Memorial Foundation

Families guiding a loved one through the end of their lives are still receiving comfort, medications, and assistance through hospice and palliative care. The needs in our valley don't stop for a pandemic.

Story

YouthWorks supports families guiding a loved one through the end of their while they are receiving comfort, medications, and assistance through hospice and palliative care.

Proceeds from the sale of these products will directly benefit Compass Care and Cottage in the Meadow.

YouthWorks Council is a group of high school students from around the YakimaValley that come together to promote philanthropy and raise funds for The Memorial Foundation. We meet throughout the year to learn about the four initiatives of The Memorial Foundation which include Cancer Care, Children's Health, Compass Care, and Healthy Yakima. This year, we have chosen to fundraise for the Compass Care initiative after learning how essential these funds are to supporting patients and their loved ones through Cottage in the Meadow.

Compass Care is a program supported by The Memorial Foundation that provides services for patients and their loved ones who are experiencing a life-limiting illness. This program includes palliative care, hospice, Cottage in the Meadow, and bereavement services. Compass Care provides comfort, support, and love through the patient’s end of life. Cottage in the Meadow is Yakima’s hospice care provider through The Memorial Foundation. The familial feel of Cottage in the Meadow creates a home-away-from-home atmosphere for patients and their loved ones.
