Why your donation matters
Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service now funds two community paediatric palliative care nurses who support families across Berkshire in their own homes, providing much needed respite, palliative care, emotional and practical support. We are working towards building Berkshire's very own children's hospice for these local families which will be supported by a home care team.
Building a Children's Hospice for Berkshire and beyond. An anonymous benefactor recently donated 6 acres of land in the Maidenhead area to Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service. A planning application was submitted and we are delighted to announce that our charity has now been granted permission to build Berkshire's children's hospice. Families tell us that they find it difficult to find the right support at the right time and we understand that it is the whole family who need to be looked after. Our ultimate aim is to provide well co-ordinated support, which is available from the point of diagnosis for as long a families want, either in the home or in our local hospice.
