Afghanaid has worked alongside Afghan communities for nearly three decades. We currently work directly with over 1 million adults and children focusing on long term sustainable development in some of Afghanistan's poorest areas.

In a country where 1 in 4 children dies before the age of 5, Afghanaid's work has an immediate effect helping build a future where people have healthier lives.

In 2010 Afghanaid worked in over 2000 villages, vaccinated 30,000 animals, distributed 20,000 saplings trained 1,600 women and men in bookkeeping, brought clean water to 100 villages and build 10 bridges. These are things which make a lasting difference to the lives of rural Afghans every single day.
