After being in the Philippines on Project CDO for 4 Weeks I was amazed at how much work there was, and this is to go towards that work.

Why your donation matters
Project Cagayan de Oro, Philippines
"I wanted to take a moment to send you a personal thank-you note from our All Hands Volunteers project here in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
Thanks to your generosity and that of others, we've so far managed to build 140 new permanent homes in safe and vibrant new communities for families displaced by the flash floods of Typhoon Sendong. In so doing, we've coordinated more than 220 local and international volunteers, who combined have donated more than 35,000 hours of their labour, directly impacting more than 800 local families in need.
Once again, thank you for your generous contribution."
Chris Turner, Project Director CDO Philippines
Case study: donations in action
The typhoon began with an ordinary drizzle.
Then the winds picked up, electricity powered off and by 10pm the floods rose to the second floor. Leopoldo (60) and Tesse (49) escaped by holding on to electrical wires that led to their neighbour’s house. When they got to the roof of the second house, another house was about to crash into it, so they jumped onto a third house and made it into the water that carried them to a mango tree. Debris clustered around the tree that provided a miniature island for them to stand on until morning. They were not rescued but rather walked down from the rubble once the waters receded.
Leopoldo is grateful to All Hands Volunteers for giving him the opportunity to save for the uncertain future: “All Hands gave me work and relief for a long time. I save money for my future and my capital, for my work."
