Why your donation matters

When cancer threatens someone you love: Big C's scientists, nurses and the hospitals we equip will give them a fighting chance and hope for the future.

By donating to Big C, you’re providing local hospitals with specialist staff and equipment. You’re funding world class research into the causes of cancer. You’re helping us give advice and support to the many people who visit our Big C Centre at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital every day.

Case study: donations in action

Karen, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, is just one of the 600 people a month who visit our Big C Cancer Support and Information Centre. Our Centre provides a warm and welcoming space for people living with cancer, their families, friends and carers. The support we can offer ranges from complimentary therapies and relaxation groups to welfare rights advice and scarf tying workshops. Karen told us:

“The support I have received throughout my cancer journey has been fantastic, from the time I was first diagnosed. The staff at the Big C Centre have helped us all the way and I would urge anyone affected by cancer to drop in to the Centre. You'll receive such a friendly welcome and a whole host of practical and emotional support. My journey has not ended but I know I can rely on Big C to help me and my family through it.”
