The Rock Community Hub is a front-line charitable organisation, created to address some of the underlying causes of food poverty in Grimsby. The vision for this Grimsby based charity began with the vision of the Rock Foundation UK also based in Grimsby. Rock has been helping the town’s most in need since 2014 with various kinds of food parcels, a fuel voucher scheme and generally signposting service users to help and support with benefits. However, it became apparent that a wider range of support was needed to address some of the underlying causes of food poverty. In June 2023, the Rock Foundation UK handed the baton over to the Rock Community Hub, who now run and facilitate the Food Bank and are developing a range of community support initiatives including; offering a new warm space, cookery courses, and a benefits advice service.
