Why your donation matters

Since our foundation as Blackburn Orphanage over 120 years ago we no longer look after children in residential care as 'orphans'. However the problems we are dealing with are very much the same:

Abuse and neglect of children, alchol and drug addiction, poverty, criminal activity, marriage breakdowns, dysfunctional relationships, teenage pregnancies and a whole range of problems in the home that impact in a negative way on the children and young people affected.

Between 2005 and 2010 Child Action Northwest worked with 15,000 children across the region. This gives you some idea of the size of the problems in the Northwest which contains some of the most deprived communities in the UK.
