Who we are
Coram has been working with vulnerable children since 1739 when Thomas Coram established what was formerly known as The Foundling Hospital.
• Help children find love in a new family
• Support parents so they are better able to care for their children
• Help young people in the care system to develop skills & live independent lives
We have recently brought Coram Life Education on board reaching up to 4,000 primary schools & 1 million children per year
What we do
• Adoption - helping children find loving adoptive families. Our adoption service has the lowest disruption rate in the country (3% against a national average of 20%)
• Parenting services – provides the space for parents to gain advice, access to parenting programmes, meet other parents, one-to-one support, courses & drop-ins
• Housing and support - enabling care leavers & young people at risk to develop the skills to reach their full potential by providing supported housing
• Family support programmes help address the loss of supportive networks for families by working with schools, children’s centres and community groups giving parents the space to develop their relationships & support children’s development
• Education – provides children, young people & families the opportunity to develop their confidence, self esteem and skills through communication and learning
• Coram Life Education helps children make healthy choices contributing to existing Personal
