Story
We are the 23rd Portsmouth Scout Group. On the 10th of July an electrial fault caused a fire at our equipment store, the fire burned for a while before the smoke was spotted by one of the residents in a house overlooking our building. They called the fire brigade who quickly arrived and put out the fire.
We have lost all our tents, sleeping bags, blankets and associated equipment used to take inner city children camping on a regular basis, and need to start from scratch. This has obviously been a very hard year, as where the Group has not been meeting at all, we have not been able to have any form of income.

4 years agoWe have contacted local companies about rewiring the electrics and professional cleaning, decontamination of the building, and with this in mind we are updating our target by £500. Thanks again, the support we have received has been amazing.

4 years agoOver two weeks has passed since the fire at our equipment store and in this short time our £2000 target of has been reached. To all who have donated, we cannot thank all of you enough, we have received donations on this page and cash donations in person. Work has started on the clean up, logging all the damaged items is well underway, items that can be saved have been removed and cleaned. We have a skip on site for all the items that can’t be saved and will have to be disposed of.
