The 49th Newcastle Scouts, Cubs and Beavers provide exciting activities for children from the west end of Newcastle.

In order to raise funds for our group, Beaver leader Mel will be running the Great North Run in full uniform and carrying the standard expedition pack, including a tent, sleeping bag, food and clothing.

Parent Louise Robson will also be putting on her running shoes to raise money for our group. This will be the second time she has done the GNR and aims to beat her PB of 2 hours 39 minutes this year.

Local runner and fundraiser John Stewart will complete the Great North Run as one of the many charity events he has completed this year to raise money for our cause.

Mr Ian Miller will be putting his (somewhat dusty) allegiance to the Boys' Brigade to one side to support us by running the GNR to raise funds for the 49th Newcastle. This will be his first time ever on this course!
