Story
At the start of this year my Mam, Jane Ritchie, got rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the days that followed brought a lot of bad news about her condition.
She was diagnosed with AML Leukaemia, an aggressive blood cancer, in turn this led to her have 5 critical illnesses and suffering from strokes leaving the majority of one hemisphere dead. After a week of fighting she passed peacefully with us at her side.
Through her stay we received a lot of comfort and support from ARI and were amazed by the medical advances, which could have helped her recovery if she had made it through.
Charities are helping to fight illnesses like this and have on going research to help fight cancer and stop other people going through what my mam and our family has been through.
We want to help them fight this battle and we aim to raise as much money as possible to help these charities to beat cancer and to stop other people going through the same thing.
