Thomas Sheils (myself) and Alfie Duncan are raising money for a friend who has been told her cancer is no longer treatable. We would like to raise money for herself and the family to enjoy and make all the memories that they can, to make every moment and bit of time count!

This is Claire's storey.

Claire was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 22 in 2011, 4 months after giving birth to her daughter Halle. Claire had a year of treatment to try and cure the cancer.s She had chemotherapy and operations to remove the tumours in her pelvis and her lung, leaving her with half a pelvis and an infected hip replacement. After recovering from the chemotherapy Claire learnt to walk again without aids and remained in remission for 2 and a half years. In 2015 on Claire's birthday (March) she received the news that her cancer had returned in her spine. They told Claire that the cancer now had no cure as they couldn't remove all of the tumour due to where it was in The spine, but the surgeon wished to have a go of removing most of it and they gave her radiotherapy afterwards. As the surgeon felt he had taken out everything he could see they put Claire back in remission. However in March 2016 Claire receives the news that the tumour had not been taken out completely of the spine and was growing again. She ha had regular scans to check the speed of its growth and to check if it had spread anywhere else. In June 2016 she found out it had spread to the lungs again. She has now been given the option of more chemotherapy but there is only 35% chance that It will pro long her life. She is now trying different alternative medicines in order to try and slow the growth down as she is determined to live as long as possible for her daughter Halle Now aged 5.
They have said Claire has 9 months to 3 years to live depending on whether the chemo helps to slow the growth down. This is a person whom is loved by loads and carries a smile wherever she goes! we want to do our part 💞
