Story

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am a close friend of the Freeman family and feel compelled to do something positive to help them through a very difficult time they are having right now.
During December 2016, Claire Freeman became very unwell and was slowly recovering when on 31st May 2017, she was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry on a country road and thus, is in a critical condition in hospital with very serious injuries to date.
She was airlifted to Coventry Walsgrave where she is in the Critical care ward, at time of writing. She is in an induced coma and has severe head injuries which have led to many complications, all needing medical intervention, and it is too soon to know what the long-term situation will be for Claire and her family.
The Freemans are a lovely family and are very popular in our village;
Claire is well known for her rock journalism aka ‘Purple Owl’, being a fantastic friend that you can always turn to for support. She is also a fantastic Mummy to Elliot, who is 12 and autistic and 8-year-old Dominic. She is the backbone of the family that not only takes care of the children but Ian too. She is a great fan of rock music and regularly attends gigs and writes articles on social media and for the Planet Rock radio station. Working in the marketing department for ‘Swim England’, she is a highly valued member of staff and is very influential in developing and promoting all children learning to swim through her School Swimming Charter and Swim Safe initiatives.
I'm worried about the situation the family is in, with Claire likely to be in hospital care for an extended period and with significant rehabilitation likely in the longer term, hence this will undoubtedly cause financial hardship and uncertainty.
I do hope that this demonstrates how vital it is for the Freeman family to be helped. Any amount will help, but if you are unable to contribute, I appreciate you taking the time to read and share this message. Thank you.
