Hallaton Museum Hallaton Museum, located in the Tin Tab, next to the church, is a long term village institution. Set up in 1978, it has over the years displayed numerous exhibitions depicting life in Hallaton.
The museum is now in the process of installing an updated exhibition on the famous Hare Pie Scramble and Bottle Kicking.
Bottle Kicking, held on Easter Monday, is the most famous event held in our village. It is an integral part of our social history having being taken place each year since the early 1600’s. It regularly attracts thousands of visitors to Hallaton and over the years has been the subject of various television documentariess.
The new display boards will greatly enhance the visitor experience and continue to promote the most famous event held in Hallaton.
The museum, which is volunteer-led, relies completely on fundraising and donations to create and develop the exhibitions to continue to attract our visitors by sharing Hallaton’s rich history of over 2000 years.
