My first yoga retreat was in Huzur Vadisi in 2001 and it totally changed my life. Thousands of us must have passed through Huzur Vadisi as guests over the past 25 years. We have experienced everything from relaxation and respite from our daily lives, to states of deep bliss to life-changing moments.

Recent events in Turkey have been sad on so many levels, but it really brings it home when you think of the impact - of tourists staying away while the country stabilises itself - on the livelihoods of all those beautiful, dedicated people who have given us so much - Ian, Jane and Tanfer, not to mention the wonderful staff at Huzur Vadisi, including Sevgi the lovely cook, and all their families.

The upheaval has inevitably been reflected in the bookings for Huzur Vadisi, and as a result it is under threat of permanent closure. We would like to help to raise a useful sum to help tide them over and hopefully enable them to keep the Peaceful Valley enterprise afloat until better times. It would be wonderful to repay them in a small way for everything we have gained.

They have managed to raise £10,000 so far to meet their outstanding business payments, but need to find more to meet taxes, national insurance payments in Turkey and staff compensations, and hopefully enable them to re-open as soon as possible.
