Hi I’m Lola, I’m 12 years old and have chosen to volunteer at a school in Kenya in August 2025. I will be doing this through my school and African Adventures. I will be going for 10 days in the summer holiday where I will be helping children in their classrooms, playing with them during breaks and hopefully sharing some fun activities. I will also be spending some time helping to build classrooms and out buildings for the school.

The first challenge for me is to raise the money to pay for the trip. The charity are keen that we do this ourselves to help learn how to raise money for charities. I need to raise at least £2400 which funds the trip and donates to the charity. I would love to raise more than this so I can take some items with me for the children and the school.

I raised some money early this year through dying my dad’s beard pink. It seems people were happy to donate to humiliate my dad! I am selling my old clothes on Vinted, planning car boot sales and doing a sponsored walk, while thinking what else i can do😀
