Story
Brian Wylie, our son, brother, nephew, cousin and pal, “Smiley”was a passenger in a car accident that occured on the 26th November 2023. As a result Brian has been left in critical condition and remains in a coma in ICU with significant life changing injuries, this has been a traumatic time and Brian is not out if the woods yet. His parents have been by his side from the moment they were taken to the hospital by the police that evening. As time goes on, their ability to be by his side in the hope that he wakes up from his coma, is becoming financially challenging. No parent should ever have to go through this with a child and having the financial worries on top is simply too much.

Mum & Dad don’t and won’t leave Brian’s side whilst he is in critical condition. As a family and by support from very close friends we have managed to support them by renting a little apartment nearby so they are only a 10 minute walk to his bedside at Glasgow Queen Elizabeth hospital, otherwise they would have to travel approximately 50mins to 1hr each day and should something happen they would not forgive themselves if they were not there. We would love to be able to pay for this little apartment for them for as long as possible. We know that even if Brian does wake up, it will be a long slow process and he will need their support of his parents indefinitely. Mum doesnt get paid when she is off work and they still have bills at home to pay for. This is not something that you would ever plan for as a parent. There is no support available from the hospital in respect of accomodation or even financially until Brian’s full outdome is known.
I have set up this page in the hope that we can help to take the financial worries away or even ease them a little to ensure that they can just focus on their boy getting better.
I appreciate that everyone may be tight with money especially at this time of year and the cost of living. We would never want anyone to detriemnt themsleves to support this cause. We completley understand and do not feel obliged to contribute. All we ask is that you please share this with any of Brian’s close friends or anyone you think may want to contribute.
Thank you for your support, from the bottom of our hearts.
