Story
For 18 years (1999-2017) since its establishment, Radio Maria Malawi has spread God's word and evangelized many in Malawi and abroad through radio broadcasting services. To effectively provide these services, the station among others, pays various fees annually to various institutions such as to Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) for the broadcasting licence, Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) etc. for co-siting on their towers.
Lately, due to financial problems, it is becoming increasingly challenging for Radio Maria to raise and pay these fees timely, such that currently, the station owes MACRA close to six million Kwacha and Malawi Telecommunications Limited close to ten million Kwacha. Radio Maria is mobilizing well wishers whose contributions can greatly help to off-set some of these fees.
