I've raised £2000 to deliver 100 more nutrition & cookery workshops to vulnerable, underprivileged children across Argentina

Delicas de Alicia is a social enterprise based in Buenos Aires that runs workshops for underprivileged children in deprived areas of the city, teaching them the fundamentals of nutrition and how to prepare healthy, sustainable meals. The goal is to provide activities that educate the kids on the importance of a balanced diet but which are also fun, engaging and creative. An important part of the running of the workshop is that all ingredients used are bought in the 'villa' (slum), so that we are working with foods that the children recognise, which are accessible and affordable.
The project is mostly self-sufficient as we run vegetarian supper clubs, somewhat of a novelty in one of the world’s most carnivorous nations, and catering services that fund the workshops. However, we want to be able to keep up with the growing demand and put on multiple workshops simultaneously in different parts of the city. That's why we're asking for your donations. We really believe in the future of this project but we need your help to make it flourish. There are next to no government resources prioritising the importance of nutrition and we'd like to see programmes become a more established part of the curriculum in all schools across Argentina.
As we see it, by providing underprivileged children with the knowledge and understanding of what a healthy, balanced diet should consist of, we give them the skills to form healthier habits and thus the opportunity to work, learn and develop in the most wholesome, beneficial way possible so that they have a better chance of freeing themselves from the cycle of poverty.
