Story
Last year my Dad turned 70 and our gift to him was a skydive - something he has wanted to do for as long as I can remember. So on the 29th August, a day before he is 71, we hope to complete the jump. Needless to say, my Dad is the least scared and the most excited about this prospect! For me this is more of a challenge than a fun day out. That said it will be an achievement I'll be proud of.
We'll also be jumping with my brother's partner Katie. I couldn't ask for two better people to jump with. Hopefully our tandem instructors will be pretty good too!
I'll be raising money for the mental health charity Mind. Poor mental health continues to be an issue that affects many people's lives on a day to day basis, getting in the way of them enjoying life and fulfilling their aspirations. I have an amazing friend who works in mental health and services are stretched. Mind can offer support to more people, helping people to move forward with their lives.
Please give generously to support this important charity. Around 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems each year, so you never know when you might need them.
Oh and spare a thought for me on the 29th August when my legs turn to jelly and my mind is blank with terror. See you at the bottom!
