Story

Our Fatima was born full term and struggled with oxygen, she contracted sepsis at 10 days old and we were told she wouldnt make it our fighter managed to come back from deaths door then but her immune system took a big hit. We had only had her home for two and half weeks when on 31st August she became very quite we took her in to hospital and got transferred to LGI on 1st August where the doctors did tests and we found out she had a really bad infection, the doctors told us the best decision would be not to ventilate her and give her aggressive medicanes as she'd fought sepsis once and this time she would have a lasting effect from the medicanes if she recovered and chances of recovery were really less. We agreed with this decision as hard as it was Fatima fought as much as she could and it wouldn't be fair on her to put her through more pain to ease our own pain of letting her go.

We got a special memory box from the nurses where we got to make clay footprints/handprints of Fatima and have some more keepsakes of her. The memory box was from parents that had a sleeping baby boy we would like to make some memory boxes in Fatimas name to help grieving parents have some lovely keepsakes of their baby.

We will be giving the memory boxes to neonatal unit at bradford royal infirmary and forget me not hospice in huddersfield. The first place where our fatima fought and survived and the latter where our fighter took her last breath.
