Story
This is an appeal on behalf of our friend Indranil Adhikari, who met an accident on 18th August, 2017 near Howrah railway station at Howrah, West Bengal. While returning home late at night he was ran over by a route number 37 bus. The accident completely crushed both his legs. He was immediately admitted to CMRI hospital at Kolkata. He was operated and treated by a medical team under supervision of Dr. Golam Hassan. He had to undergo a reconstruction surgery of both his legs and extensive plastic surgery. The hospital charges were high, in the range of Rs. 600,000. Only a partial amount was reimbursed by his mediclaim (around 150,000) and remaining was from personal savings. His friends and family provided enough support to at least meet the initial expenses. Indranil has shown tremendous mental strength throughout this entire ordeal and never stopped smiling.
Now he is back home and starts the real challenge of post-surgery rehabilitation. As per the doctors he needs more than 6 months to stand and walk again. He is a medical representative by profession and the only breadwinner in his family. There will no fixed income coming for a long time now. On top his regular expenses he has to bear the cost of ongoing medical expenses, medication, and physiotherapy till he can start working again.
We, friends from his school (Howrah Zilla School, batch of 1995) are trying our best to provide him as much as financial help to continue with his medical expenses. Now it is an appeal to all our friends, family and well wishers to assist us gather some additional funds to help Indranil fight this battle, to show him he is not alone and with all our support he can return back to his normal life.
Please help generously to meet this goal, any small contribution is appreciated.
Thank you from the friends of Indranil
