Story

The start of 2018, we were told some very happy news that Tyler and Georgia were expecting their first baby. Everyone was so pleased and excited for a new baby to be joining the family.

Their 12 week scan went well and all was confirmed with babies first photo being shared for friends and family to see.

May 2018 then came and their 20 week scan came around. The excitement could be felt by all, was the new baby going to be pink or blue, but most of all was he/she going to be healthy. It was this day that would change their lives forever, that day they were told that their baby had Spina Bifida.

Spina Bifida is when a babys spine and spinal cord dont develop properly in the womb, causing a gap in the spine. Spina Bifida is a type of neural tube defect. The neural tube is the structure that eventually develops into the babys brain and spinal cord.

To close the gap and help join the babys spine consultants in Southmead have told them they can have an operation, that can take place whilst baby is still in the womb. This will have lasting effects and help the baby have the best start in life.

Sadly this operation cannot be done in the UK, so their only option for this to take place will be to travel to Germany. For the operation on June 13th. This will have a big financial cost of £9000.

So we are starting this go fundme page to help these young soon to be parents give their baby the beat start in life.

Baby... is a pink one by the way!!
