Story

On Friday 18th August 2017, Bangor Cathedral was broken into and vandalized. This intrusion needs to be met with true Bangor spirit - the coming together of men and women from the area to show that in our diversity we stand united. That together we say no to crime.

To that end a community concert was organised where local musician performed to raise funds towards both repairing the damage caused and also the commissioning of an art-piece to commemorate this generation's strong links and community spirit.

Therefore, we are asking you to help. The costs of repair are collossal as the damage was caused to intricate, Victorian wood-work, as well as an entire stained-glass panel being ruined. Further to the damage was the destruction of a metal processional cross which will have to be completely replaced, the same with a gilt, carved angel from the High Alter. As well as two broken windows used for entry to the premises.

Hopefully from the breakdown of physical damage you can begin to picture just how expensive these repairs will be, and so the figure we're hoping to raise is just a base level. Any donations you can make will be most appreciated, and we hope that in true Bangor Spirit we can support those in need at this time.
