Story

This is our little scamp barley... my grandson just happened to pick the scruffiest, yappiest little Jack Russell border terrier cross and thank goodness he did, not only so that we were lucky enough to have our lives blessed by barley but because unknowingly to us he has a rare, life threatening condition called haemophilia and who knows what would have happened to him if he hadn't been brought into our loving family.
It wasn't until barley started to loose his puppy teeth that we knew something was wrong.. his gums wouldn't stop bleeding and after a few trips to the vets it was confirmed that Barley was a haemophiliac and he wasn't given the best odds to survive past his puppy years! Obviously we were devastated but luckily enough we had gotten barley Insured in time to be covered for the majority of his vetinary care.
Barley has defied all odds by still being here with us today... battling bumps and bruising, bleeds and blood transfusions along the way and reaching the ripe old age of 8! but all of this has come at a tremendous cost and with the latest of barleys battles with bleeding, which has left him with a collapsed trachea, a raspy cough and needing to be on medication for the rest of his life, the insurance cover that we have for barley has become so strict that he is only covered for a portion on money each year and with his specialist care being so expensive it means that one day we might not have enough money to pull together to be able to save his life!
Which is a cruel cruel way to maybe one day have to say goodbye to our beautiful family member because once barley has gone through a blood transfusion to stop the bleed he makes, pretty much a full, pain free recovery so it would be so heart breaking for us as a family to be left with no other options but to have put down.
This is why us as a family have decided to ask for any help and prayers you kind people can offer! We know times are hard but literally every penny will help in the future!
