Story

On Saturday the 9th of September me and my team mate Iain will be taking part in the 105 mile Coast to Coast challenge. We will run, cycle and kayak our way from Nairn all the way to the finish line in Glen Coe Village. This is a really tough event, and made all the harder by us choosing the expert 1 day category as opposed to the more common 2 day challenger event!!

I would like to use this opportunity to try my best to raise some funds for a little lady I had the pleasure of meeting on a flight from Birmingham last year. Laurel Allen is a 4 year old girl who has a rare form of Childhood Cancer that she was diagnosed with a couple of years back. When I met her she had already had one eye removed due to the disease, tragically this has since spread and robbed her of both eyes and she is now blind.

This has left a lot of challenges for Laurel and her family, not least having to make significant changes to upgrade their house and garden to so that Laurel can play in as safe an environment as possible.

Thanks for reading and huge thanks in advance for any donations. Any money raised will be passed on to the family and further details for Laurels condition can be found via this Facebook link;

Best regards,

Barry
