Story

Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success. (World Book Day 2022)

The Bearsted Book Hunt is a non-profit community project, set up by Book Bugs and funded entirely by donations from local businesses and individual contributions.

Books are distributed around the area for children to find, to read and then to either keep or re-hide. Promoting reading for local children, getting them outdoors and bringing the community together.

Following the huge success of the project in 2021 the book hunt will once again take place this summer. Unlike last year, where the packs were hidden over a month, they will this time be mass distributed for a single day fun community event!

Each book pack costs just £1 to put together and are distributed for free. The books enclosed feature a ‘book plate’ sticker displaying the name/company of the generous donor.
