In May, my sister Bethany had an accident resulting in her being unable to walk without the aid of crutches and suffering with a lot of pain. Her journey through the NHS has been long winded and recently she has received news that the operation she needs won't be until this time next year! I think 16 months on crutches is unbearable for anyone, never mind the other repercussions this news has on her life, loosing her job, her apartment and independence!

I have therefore decided to raise money for Beth to have the operation privatly, reducing the wait from 1 year, to 2 weeks! I will start by running York half marathon on September 10th, and continue fundraising in other ways until I have met my target.

For those of you who know Beth you will know of her generous, kind hearted, optimistic, fun character and know how hard it has been for her already; if you feel moved to donate any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated.
