Story

On October 4th 2022, a team from the Black Jug are joining in with teams from other Brunning and Price pubs and the Burnt Chef Project, to raise money and awareness for those struggling with their Mental Health within the hospitality industry.

The hospitality industry is such a great sector to work in. We work closely alongside many people, and are a part of their lives, giving people fantastic memories that will last a lifetime.

As great as it is, working within the industry can be very challenging. Sadly a great number of staff struggle mentally and physically. We want to help shine a light on these struggles and do what we can to help.

The Burnt Chef project was started to help staff struggling with these issues, through training and counselling and are fully committed to making the hospitality profession healthier and more sustainable by focussing on people's wellbeing first.

Not content with a small challenge of climbing Snowdon just the once (which is a fantastic achievement on it's own), we are aiming to climb it 3 times in a day!

Snowdon has 6 main routes, and we are going to walk each of them within 24hrs. Covering some 24 miles and ascend about 3000 metres.

Challenge accepted....game on!
