Story
Here at RevZolution, we're looking at giving back to our local community by raising £30,000 for the unsung heroes that offer their free time to the NHS. These Men and Women are known as "Blood Bikers"
If you're unfamiliar with who and what Blood Bikers are, then let me have a few moments of your time.
The term "Blood Bikers" refers to a very special group of men and women who give up their free time to help provide a free courier service to our NHS. This service will transport surgical tools, human milk, spinal fluid, faecal matter (for faecal transplants), rabies serum and many more items. These are all conveyed via panniers on their motorbikes.
And now with Covid-19, the Blood Bikers are being called upon to help transport supplies and medical equipment to care homes and the vulnerable in our community.
The charities preferred method of transport is reflected in their name, Blood Bikers. They use motorcycles which are very nimble at passing large amounts of traffic to get the supplies to their destination quickly, safely and without the need for braking road traffic laws.
As you can imagine, motorcycles cost money right from the moment they're purchased. For a non Government funded charity, this is a big cost but one that is worth every penny as at the end of every trip someone could well live to see another day.
So what are we asking your help for?
The NHS is currently going through an unprecedented time and are relying more on the free service provided by Blood Bikers. This is in turn, is placing more miles on their fleet of bikes which means more costs towards servicing.
Due to current Covid restrictions, Blood Bikers are unable to go out in public and conduct their usual fund raising events. This is why we feel it's important to help by raising £30,000 to help towards a new motorcycle that meet their requirements, along with enough money left over for fuel and maintenance.
The volunteers pay for their own fuel!
There are currently 32 member groups in the UK providing this vital service. RevZolution, will start by raising funds for the "SERV Wessex" Blood Bikers.
Our goal is to raise £30,000 for all 32 groups.
Please donate what ever you can to this cause. Who knows, maybe one day a Blood Biker will help save yours or a loved one's life.
