Story

A dear friend and colleague, Susan Millar, died at the age of just 38 on 24th September, 2021.
Susan had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2019 and a year later thought she had been through the worst. Move forward to August 2021 when Susan and her family got the shocking news that the Cancer was back and this time it had spread through her body and was terminal. Susan was never a person for giving up so she was set for a fight. She had her family supporting her and encouragement from them to beat the disease.
Unfortunately, Cancer had other plans.
On 11th September, I chatted to Susan about raising funds in her name for a charity or charities she felt had supported her. She chose Maggies Centre in Dundee who had given her practical help and her local Macmillan Nurses who had helped her to manage her pain.
The plan was that a group of us from Bank of Scotland would walk up the Law Hill in Dundee on 31st October (Halloween) and we would wear Boo Bees t-shirts to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and the importance of checking yourselves regularly. Susan was to be guest of honour at the presentation of the cheques to the Charities.
As you will no doubt have gathered, Susan passed before we were fully organised but we are still going to fundraise and she will still be the guest of honour at the presentation, albeit in our memories.
The Bank will support us with matched funding but we want to raise as much as we possibly can. If EVERYONE who sees this link would even donate JUST £5, the power of the Internet and Social Media will get us there.
