Story

We are crowdfunding in memory of my son, Bradley Hughes, who was 19 years old and suffered from mental health illnesses for many years but sadly decided to take his own life on Wednesday 6th March 2019.

Bradley was a valued member of Delta Academy of Dance & Performing Arts, who work closely in conjunction with Queensway Community Group. Music was Bradley's passion from a young age and he found solace in writing his own music and performing impromptu gigs in the local community and posting online videos of songs he had written.

Brad's music was heavily influenced by his pain and battles with mental health illness. Where Brad didn't always find the words to speak openly about his pain, he found comfort and calm in expressing his thoughts through music, which in turn became his substitute to self harm.

Brad visited a recording studio with the community group and seeing the positive effect this had on Brad and other members of the group at the time, has inspired us to create our own studio and safe haven for local children to experiment with music. The chance to visit a studio would be impossible for most children in our community so let's give them a chance to express themselves and escape from their troubles, even if it is only for an hour.
