Hi, my name is Callum, I am 14 years old and have been offered
an amazing opportunity to go to Borneo for 4 weeks in August
2019 with some fellow pupils from school.

Borneo
So Borneo is the 3rd biggest island in the world and has a population of around 18.59 million which is roughly the population of London and Portugal. Borneo's rainforests are also one of the only places that you can find Orangutans. On the note of rainforests half of the worlds timber comes from Borneo, which has caused Borneo to lose just shy of 20% of its rainforests.

So that's where me and anyone else who has done this trip comes in, we will be helping the local community and the environments for example one of the things people have previously built is an Orangutan nursery and people previously have also replanted nearly 1 million trees to try and recover the loss of the rainforests from deforestation.

We will also be helping in local schools and build bridges and school buildings etc. Like I've already said we will be there for a whole 4 weeks but I need to fundraise £4700 to fund the trip so that's where you come in I will be doing several types of fundraising events over the next 2 years to raise that 4 grand which will cover everything I need but not my personal equipment, I'm still convincing my parents for that bit (especially a GoPro), anyway I'm asking you to donate to help me reach the target. I would really appreciate it and it would mean a lot to me.

I thought it might help if I told you a little bit about myself. As you know I'm 13 years old and I live in King's Lynn, Norfolk. I attend Scouts and I enjoy that lots and I also help out at Beaver Scouts where my mum is a leader. I love my PS4 but I love the outdoors more. I enjoy camping and being out with my friends, cycling and climbing. I think volunteering is really important in local our communities but we should also help other countries and communities.
