To raise funds for our Captains charities this year, LinkAble and Woking Age Concern, I will be undertaking a 24 hour golf challenge on the 8th of July. Given how much I ache after just one round these days this is perhaps not my most sensible decision, but the charities have been badly hit this year and desperately need our support. So I'll put up with a few aches and pains. We plan to play through the night with lights on the greens and luminous balls to guide us on the way, and will make use of all three courses at Hoebridge

We are supporting two charities this year.

LinkAble is a local charity which helps children and adults with learning difficulties and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The charity works to help its service users re-engage with mainstream life. The charity offers people activities and experiences that they struggle to access in the wider community, supporting them to learn new skills, form lasting friendships and lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Woking Age Concern is a small, local, independent charity, which offers support to the older residents in the borough of Woking. Their mission is to promote the wellbeing of older people in and around Woking by offering, friendship, information and support.

We know that this has been a tough year for many people and that there will be many calls on your funds, but if you can make a donation it will be very gratefully received. In addition I won’t mind if you laugh at me as I hobble by in the weeks that follow.
